Indipress Gallery
2021
Held at Indipress Gallery, this exhibition brings together the 〈玄玄 EPIPHANY〉 series and a number of sculptural works. Layering the meanings of hyeon (玄)—blackness, profundity, and mystery—the exhibition takes Cheonji hyeonhwang (天地玄黃), the opening phrase of the Thousand Character Classic, as its guiding motif.
Against black surfaces, circular abstract forms evoke microcosmic beings and an endlessly expanding cosmic space, conveying the universe as a vast, interconnected community of life. Through this, the viewer encounters a humble awareness of the human as only a minute part of nature.
