玄玄 EPIPHANY
The National Assembly of the Republic of Korea
2022
Sculpture and painting, crossing into one another’s dimensions, generate a powerful synergy in the exhibition at the National Assembly Members’ Office Building. Homo Sapiens, portraying a wide range of human figures; Ottogi, a sculptural embodiment of the essence of embrace projected through the image of the Great Mother Goddess; and Epiphany (玄玄), a painting series marked by deep and intense dark surfaces, together transform the exhibition space into a single organic world.
This interwoven spatial composition draws viewers into the artist’s intimate artistic universe. It prompts reflection on how small and fragile human beings are within the vast community of life that is the cosmos, while further conveying a message of overcoming crisis through symbiosis by dismantling the fundamental boundaries between the human and the nonhuman.
